As a student at Millennium Wrestling Academy, I have been studying pro wrestling matches. Not only does a wrestler need to know moves and how to do them safely and efficiently, but they need to know the progression of a match.
In wrestling there are 7 Stages in a Wrestling Match.
Here they are:
- Stage 1 – The Intro
- Stage 2 – The Shine
- Stage 3 – The Heat
- Stage 4 – The Comeback
- Stage 5 – The Big Heat
- Stage 6 – The Big Comeback
- Stage 7 – The Finish
A great post about each step and what they mean can be found here.
As I was watching matches trying to find a great match that is basic but meets the steps I found The Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlmania 28.
Their match uses every basic wrestling move starting from the lock up to chain wrestling and arm drags. No matter how basic the moves (and these moves are the first moves ever taught at wrestling school besides “The Bump”.), the match is amazing to watch. You can see the match unfold and see exactly what this post is about, steps in a pro wrestling match.
If you forgot about it, I posted it below.
